HOW
WILL THEY HEAR WITHOUT A PREACHER?
Dear
Pastor,
I
am writing this letter to you in our thirty sixth year of the ministry during
which I have spent twenty eight and half years serving as a pastor. I spent
five years in evangelism with my wife and four children traveling the United
States as the Smeltz Family Evangelistic Team. Today, all of our children are
married and we have eight precious grandchildren. Our youngest son is married to
a Ukrainian young lady who loves the Lord. For years I have felt the calling and
challenge to work overseas in training national pastors. After visiting the
field several times I found a distinct need to train national pastors. We both agreed after much prayer it was time for us to go full time in
missions. On December 10, 2006 I informed my church I was resigning as full time
pastor. Our last Sunday was January 14, 2007, and we have been steady in our
deputation efforts and very thankful to the gracious pastors who have allowed us
to come and present the ministry. Over thirty six years I have ministered in
over 400 churches world wide. Preaching revivals, Missions Conferences, Soul
Winning Conferences, Family life Seminars, Islamic Conference( teaching on
Islam), Prophecy Conferences and encouraging pastors around the world. We also
speak in Christian Schools and colleges.
Our goal in going is to train, disciple and assist national pastors in the
planting of local churches. We will do this through colleges, seminaries and old
and new ministries that have been established in Europe and Asia and around the
world. We have
contacted the leaders of these institutions and ministries and they are willing
to work with us. We will embed ourselves with these pastors and nationals on a
short-term-basis. The second part of our goal is to invite American pastors and
Christian workers to go with us to the field in a team effort to help in
training and assisting these national pastors. Our hope is that men and
women will be called to the mission field. The third goal that we have is to
assist some of the national pastors financially in accord to there cultural
need.
Our presentation is about thirtten minutes long and can be
extended for Sunday school in the teaching of the Islamic movement. It is a
power point presentation. I believe as a missionary we need to be able to
preach. I encourage pastors to let me preach the Word of God in one of the
services. I am also available for Missions Conferences, Revivals, Soul Winning
Conferences, Family Life Seminars, Camp Meetings, and Strengthen your life
seminars. These seminars are for those who want to extend there knowledge from
the milk of the Word to the meat of the Word.
Our
Mission Statement is: How will they know about Christ unless some one tells
them.. Lord help us to be the one to present your message that Christ is the
only way to heaven.
